HTWDT Episode 40: Cujo (1983) and Good Boy (2025)

    01.03.2026 | 2 t. 17 min.
Hey, Whole Damn Family, here is our 40th episode! Wow, we are cruising right along! This one goes to the dogs, though. In this episode, we review Cujo from 1983. It gave us a chance to once again explore the Stephen King Darkweb, boy, that thing has been a wealth of information. Cujo was also directed by Lewis Teague, who directed Alligator in episode 38. There's a good amount of behind-the-scenes for this one. In our recent movie, we talk about Good Boy (2025). Does the dog die? Everyone wanted to know, and the answer is NO! In the end, he's still a good boy. We talk a bit about how the director Ben Leonberg, and his wife, producer Kari Fischer, used their own dog Indy over years of shooting. pretty cool!

HTWDT Episode 39: My Bloody Valentine (1981) and Heart Eyes (2025)

    14.02.2026 | 2 t. 38 min.
Love is in the air! Happy Valentines we dropped this on Valentines! For you!  "How you doin’"(cue the Booty Call music). We start with a deep dive on a classic slasher (1981), My Bloody Valentine, where Mike gets into some good behind-the-scenes stuff and talks about the uncut version…and how much the MPAA butchered this movie. Also, Mike sings again! After that, we cozy up on the couch for our second feature (2025) Heart Eyes (yeah, we should have reviewed this one last year…but we didn’t.) Regardless, it’s the perfect pairing for your Valentine's celebration, however and whomever you wish to spend it with.  Seriously, we are really excited about this pairing and hope you agree!

HTWDT Episode 38: Alligator (1980) and Anaconda (2025)

    01.02.2026 | 2 t. 31 min.
Hey Whole Damn Family! This episode is cold-blooded. We start off with a favorite of Mike's (1980) Alligator. Directed by Lewis Teague. In this episode, we learn that this movie isn't appropriate for four-year-olds, or so James claims, also...was Sketchers secretly involved in experiments on puppies? You'll have to listen to find out that no, that's not true. But we do at least cover the urban legend of what happens when you flush a baby alligator into the sewers...magic thats what happens. After the Lobby Break, we do a spoiler-free review of the new (2025) Anaconda reboot that came out on Christmas Day, starring Jack Black and Paul Rudd. Mike sings a song as his opener in honor of Jack Black and Sir Mix-a-lot (seriously, you can't miss that).

HTWDT Episode 37: Pans Labyrinth (2006) and Ugly Stepsister (2025)

    18.01.2026 | 2 t. 35 min.
Hey, Whole Damn Family, It's our Fairy Tale episode with lots of laughs and musical bits. In this one, we take a drug trip with Cheech and Chong and try not to get lost in Guillermo del Toro's Pan's Labyrinth (2006). We learn when not to eat the grapes, and we laugh about the fascist stepdad! There are some insightful behind-the-scenes bits on the making of The Faun and The Paleman. Then we get into the directorial debut of Emilie Blichfeld for her take on Cinderella with Ugly Stepsister (2025) This one is a wild one with more cringe moments than a TikTok vertical. Seriously, if you haven't seen it, pause at the lobby break after our spoiler-free review and see this one knowing nothing. We get into How'd they do that with the makeup FX artistry of Thomas Foldberg's studio. You'll learn a lot of things, Cinderella, actually...even bad hair metal.

HTWDT Episode 36: Nightmare on Elm Street (1984) and Black Phone 2 (2025)

    04.01.2026 | 2 t. 45 min.
Hey Whole Damn Family hope you all are had a great holiday season.  This episode is a treat! We start by discussing how angry Mom is with us about our recent treatment of Vin Diesel. Then we jump right into Wes Craven's classic Nightmare on Elm Street (1984), the movie that started a phenomenon. There are some great behind-the-scenes bits here and a lot of fun riffing on Johnny Depp (it's his first movie) and how much of a "Blanche DuBois" mess Nancy's mom is. After the lobby break we get into the ever creepy character of Ethan Hawke's, The Grabber with Black Phone 2 for our spoiler free review, and then come back to spoil the whole damn thing. Some good behind the scenes bits in this one too. For more info on the makeup Fx folks responsible for your nightmares check out these instas. David Miller from the original Nightmare sells Freddy heads so you can reach out to him about that or find him on Ebay.
