  • Bonus Episode 25 - Mary King's Close (Lost Audio Special)
Originally released for Patreons in September 2024 I hope you enjoy this very special episode. In the 25th Patreon bonus podcast you join below Edinburgh’s famous Royal Mile, where a historic close lies that was once a thriving community in it’s own right. It was open to the skies above, and named, unusually for the 17th century for a woman who was the most successful businesswoman here until her death in 1644. The building of the Royal Exchange in the 18th century spelled the end for this place, and it would be, eventually, buried beneath the city streets, lost and unused. The close became shrouded in myths and urban legends; with terrifying tales of the ghosts that remain at the close they knew so well in life.  A location we’ve already visited back in episode 18 of the podcast, but we're doing something a little bit special. In April 2024 I found a hard drive containing audio from four investigations that I conducted in 2011 and 2012. Dozens of hours of audio that I lost around a decade ago, and I thought was lost forever. These were four absolutely incredible locations, and I have covered all four investigations - minus the audio from that night - on the podcast previously. So in the Patreon specials across June, July, August, and September I will revisit those episodes and add in the audio, which was seemingly lost forever. June saw us at Middlethorpe Hall Hotel, July was the Edinburgh Dungeon, and last month we returned to York Guildhall. This time out it’s time to once again return to Mary King’s Close. The episode now includes over 2 hours and 15 minutes of audio from that unforgettable night, so you can hear what happened, exactly as it happened. But what would happen when my team and I descended beneath the city streets to investigate this tourist attraction that has found infamy, since it opened in 2003, and is now regarded as one of the most haunted places, in an incredibly haunted city. Tonight, let us find out together as we ask the question, just how haunted is Mary King’s Close? • November Patreon Teaser - The Hunt for the Beast of Bolam Lake
In the 39th Patreon bonus podcast you join me on my way north into the remote wilderness of Northumberland in pursuit of an eight foot tall hairy monster who made headlines across Britain in the early 2000s. The sightings were considered so credible that a team of professional monster hunters came in search of the beast. And saw it. But what would my good friend John and I experience as we enter Bolam Lake Country Park just as darkness descends and we quietly, and cautiously undertake a monster hunt in the middle of nowhere. So tonight, let us together ask the question, could the Beast of Bolam Lake truly exist, and if it does, just what the hell is it? • Halloween 2025 - Monster Month: The Mothman and the Other Cryptids of West Virginia
Halloween is here... Over the past few weeks, we’ve scoured the misty shores of Loch Ness, tracked elusive footprints through Pacific Northwest forests, and followed blood-curdling tales from the deserts of the Americas. From Nessie to Bigfoot to the Chupacabra, we’ve crossed continents chasing the creatures that stalk our imaginations. But tonight… tonight, we’ve saved the strangest for last. This story isn’t just a legend—it’s a warning. One whispered through radio static, etched into weathered newspaper clippings, and passed down by those who swore they saw something they couldn’t explain. It’s a tale of glowing red eyes in the dark… of prophetic nightmares… of a town haunted not by a ghost, but by something else—something winged, silent, and watching. You’re going to need your torch and your courage, as we’re heading deep into the fog-shrouded valleys of West Virginia, in search of the Mothman… and a whole host of other cryptids lurking there.
