Sam speaks to animator, comic book illustrator and long time anime fan (and expert) Tim Eldred about his prospective upcoming anime documentary Icons of Anime. 

They discuss Tim's long and storied journey in anime from the early 1970's with Speed Racer up to his all time favorite Star Blazers in the 80's. They talk about the early underground VHS trading scene in America and how anime grew from an underground, niche fandom into the world wide phenomenon it is today. 

They also talk about the demise of physical media in the wake of Sony's decision to phase out physical games from 2028.
