The Heroine’s Journey: Reflecting Women’s Stories
E17 - The Heroine’s Journey: Reflecting Women’s StoriesIn this second part of sacred storytelling, we discuss the shift in paradigms and a new way to structure and tell our stories as women. We don’t have to stick to the hero’s journey, which doesn’t reflect our journey as women. In this episode, I’ll share with you the heroine’s journey story structure and how we can use it in writing or telling our stories, and in our life. The heroine’s journey is a reflection of how women perceive life and our lived experience. You’ll find this structure in many stories written by women for women. These are often discounted by men—like all women’s work. We’ll also explore why the heroine’s journey is better for us to use than the hero’s journey in our healing and spiritual awakening.Books referenced in this episode:The Heroine’s Journey: Women's Quest for Wholeness by Maureen Murdock. From Girl to Goddess: The Heroine’s Journey through Myth and Legend by Valerie Estelle Frankel. The Heroine's Journey: For Writers, Readers, and Fans of Pop Culture by Gail Carriger.Additional links:Modern Mystic Women Writers Facebook GroupSupport the showConnect with us!Full transcript is available on my website, Dancing with the Goddess websiteDancing with the Goddess Sisterhood Facebook communityYou can find my books on my author website: https://ToraMoon.com FacebookInstagramTikTokLinkedInSupport the show and buy me a coffee! https://www.buymeacoffee.com/dwgpodMusic, Keep Going Forward, used on the show is licensed from DPmusic via MelodyLoops.com

Womanly Arts: Reclaiming the Value of Women’s Work
E15: Womanly Arts: Reclaiming the Value of Women’s WorkIn the world today, the work of women has been devalued, demeaned, and diminished. The Goddess Brigid oversaw all the womanly arts of home, hearth, fertility, textile arts, and even agriculture. Once upon a time, our work was seen as necessary for survival. But today, they’re seen as something not really necessary or valuable. Our work and contributions aren’t taken seriously.Join me in this episode as we discover a new, more empowering definition for what womanly arts are. This will help us think differently about what we do. We can begin to reclaim the value of our work, ourselves, and other women. This will support us in healing the generational trauma of having the work we do seen as less than a man’s work or effort and therefore, less valuable.Support the showConnect with us!Full transcript is available on my website, Dancing with the Goddess websiteDancing with the Goddess Sisterhood Facebook communityYou can find my books on my author website: https://ToraMoon.com FacebookInstagramTikTokLinkedInSupport the show and buy me a coffee! https://www.buymeacoffee.com/dwgpodMusic, Keep Going Forward, used on the show is licensed from DPmusic via MelodyLoops.com
